About Camp Nubar

Founded in 1963, Camp Nubar is located in the Catskill Mountains of New York State near the town of Andes, just 2 ½ hours northwest of Manhattan. It is situated on 365 acres of unspoiled forestland with its own crystal clear spring-fed lake.

AGBU Camp Nubar was created to offer fun, friendship and educational experiences to hundreds of Armenian children every summer. Our campers and counselors come from all over the world to experience an unforgettable summer taking part in various activities, making friendships that will last forever and growing in the Armenian culture and traditions.

Camp Nubar is sponsored by the Armenian General Benevolent Union, which was founded by Boghos Nubar in 1906. It is a non-political philanthropic organization whose purpose is to preserve and promote the Armenian identity and heritage through educational, cultural and humanitarian programs.

AGBU's Membership is twenty-three thousand and it serves 500,000 people through its various programs. Camp Nubar is one of the programs established in 1963 to serve not only the Armenian youth, but many others who are enriched by the Armenian culture and traditions.
