General
Camp Nubar offers a wide range of daily activities all under the capable supervision of our qualified staff. Here are some of the activities available for campers at Camp Nubar.
Archery

Campers can take archery to learn the proper techniques to use a bow and arrow. The Camp Nubar archery program is certified by the National Alliance for the Development of Archery (N.A.D.A). All the archery instructors at Camp Nubar go through a rigorous training program to ensure proper protocol is followed. This is done to create a safe and fun atmosphere for the campers and staff.
Armenian

Campers are required to take Armenian class during which time they are immersed in the culture, language and dance. They even have the opportunity to learn Armenian cooking.
Camp Craft

Put on your hiking boots! Camp Craft is a great way to explore the 365 acres of land that Camp Nubar has to offer. Campers take hikes through the pine forest and in the mountains where they distinguish one species from another and learn important survival skills. They help build bonfires, learn to build shelters in the wilderness, learn proper use of a compass and familiarize themselves with the wildness. There is nothing like the lush greenery at Camp Nubar.
Ceramics

Campers learn to mold, shape, sculpt and design their own creations.
Photography
Campers can learn how digital photography and traditional 35mm photography. We have a professional dark room fully equipped with everything needed to take, develop and print black and white photographs so campers can learn the process firsthand.
Waterfront


Waterfront has many activities for campers to choose from such as waterskiing, tubing, canoeing, rowing, sailing, and fishing. Paddle boats and kayaks are available to campers during general swim, when all campers and counselors spend time at the lake together.
Each camper must take instructional swim lessons.
The waterfront is supervised by a waterfront director who is an American Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard. In addition to the Waterfront Director, there are several other American Red Cross certified lifeguards on duty at the lake at all times.
Arts and Crafts

Campers use their creativity for various art projects that they can take home as a reminder of the fun summer they had at Camp Nubar.
Horseback

Campers can take instructional horseback riding classes where they learn the proper techniques and can explore the camp property on numerous riding trails. Horseback riding classes teach the campers control and proper care for horses.
Performing Arts

Performing arts allows campers to express themselves through improvisation, acting, singing and other fun exercises. Through this class campers grow as individuals as well as learn to work in a group setting to achieve their ultimate goal.
